Goldendoodles have become very popular due to reduced shedding (compared to purebred Golden Retrievers) and their outstanding dispositions.
Golden Retrievers generally have wonderful personalities, are good with kids, and visitors, and are fairly easily trained. However, they shed constantly.
The addition of the genes of the Poodle reduces the shedding, and actually increases the trainability of the resulting puppies.
If you suffer from asthma or allergies, and thought you would never be able to have a canine family member, take heart. A Goldendoodle may be your answer.
