- What is a goldendoodle?
A goldendoodle is a cross between a pure-bred golden retriever and a pure-bred poodle. Most goldendoodles live to be fifteen years old and are generally healthier than their parents. Goldendoodles were first bred in the 1990's and range in color from cream to brown. - What makes a goldendoodle a good pet?

Someone in my family has allergies. Will a goldendoodle's hair and dander cause an allergic reaction?
Goldendoodles shed less than most other canine breds. Dogs that shed lightly are sometimes referred to as "hypoallergenic." This does not mean that dog breeds such as the goldendoodle will not trigger an allergic reaction. However, the fact that the goldendoodle sheds less means those with mild allergies may not have a reaction to a goldendoodle even though they may to other breeds of dogs. You can learn more by reading "Goldendoodles and Allergies" or the article on hypoallergenic dogs at Wikipedia. Also, be sure to visit the goldendoodle database for more information on shedding in F1 and F1B goldendoodles. -
